March 16, 2020–As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, Central Texas College (CTC) and Texas Tech University (TTU) in Fredericksburg are taking precautionary steps by cancelling face-to-face activities for the time being.

CTC offices will be closed through March 22, and face-to-face classes have been cancelled through March 22 as well. Online classes are still on their regular schedule, and online students are required to complete assignments as identified in their syllabi.

TTU has cancelled classes through March 29, and will teach all courses online beginning March 30.

Advising sessions are being conducted only via email, for both CTC and TTU Fredericksburg sites, until April 1. Students may reach advisors at fredericksburg@ctcd.edu or anne.arnecke@ttu.edu.

Central Texas College and Texas Tech University continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and will provide updates to our students, faculty, and staff in a timely manner. Both institutions are emailing students with updates, as well as posting up to date information on their websites: ctcd.edu and ttu.edu. Students are also encouraged to check the CTC Hill Country and TTU Fredericksburg Facebook pages for updates on local campus activities. The safety of our students and our community is of top priority for us. We are looking into alternative instructional methods for our local classes and following the recommendations from the CDC and education agencies to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. We encourage students to reach out to their advisors or instructors with questions about local courses.
